Axios reported, citing sources, that US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed, during a call described as “difficult,” new efforts to reach an agreement with Iran.
According to a source quoted by the website, Netanyahu was in a state of anger after the end of the call with Trump.
The website also quoted an American source as saying that Trump informed Netanyahu that the mediators are working on preparing a “letter of intent” that Washington and Tehran are supposed to sign to end the war.
The American source added that Trump also informed Netanyahu of the existence of a 30-day negotiation period regarding the Iranian nuclear program and the Strait of Hormuz.
